Mr. Chazen is a director of the Chazen Institute of Global Business at Columbia Business School. He serves on the board and Advancement Committee of High Jump, an educational not-for-profit based in Chicago. He is a founding member of the Young Presidents Organization, Aspen Chapter, and serves as membership chair. He is a member of the Socrates Society of the Aspen Institute and serves on the Giving Network of the Aspen Community Foundation. He is a Lifetime Trustee of Jazz Aspen and serves on the Boards of both Theatre Aspen and Aspen Film. Mr. Chazen received his B.S. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1982 and his MBA from Columbia Business School in 1986. He has run 27 New York City Marathons and counting.
As CFO/COO of Strategic Equity Investors (SEI), Jon is responsible for all financial aspects of the organization including treasury, accounting, investor reporting and financial analysis, with a keen focus on optimizing asset performance for investors. Jon also takes ownership over day-to-day Company operations, critical asset management matters and oversees the Property Management team, ensuring that Company’s assets are managed with financial prudence and to tenant satisfaction.
Prior to joining SEI, Jon was Global Controller at PE backed FoodChainID, following 11+ years in EY’s assurance practice, including as a Senior Manager within its Real Estate, Hospitality and Construction practice. Jon, a CPA, earned both his BS in Accountancy and Master of Accounting Science from the University of Illinois in Champaign. He also holds an active Real Estate Broker License. Jon lives in the Chicago area with his wife, son, daughter, and dog. Jon formerly served as President on the Board of Directors of Resilience, an organization focused on empowering and supporting survivors of domestic violence and founded Foursomes4Philanthropy, a 501(3)(c) charitable organization that through an annual golf outing raised tens of thousands of dollars for local charities.
As Controller and Senior Acquisition Analyst at SGP, Grant’s responsibilities include day-to-day financial reporting, evaluating potential acquisitions, asset management analysis, and investor relations. Prior to SGP, Grant worked in the Deal Advisory group at KPMG, mostly servicing financial due diligence to private equity clients.
A proud graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Grant earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Accounting. Grant lives in Dallas with his wife and dog. Outside of work, Grant enjoys traveling and passionately supporting the Texas Longhorns, Dallas Cowboys, and Dallas Mavericks.
