Cofounder and Partner

David Chazen

David is responsible for the day-to-day management of the company, as well deal sourcing and analysis, strategic development, and managing client relationships. Before founding SGP, David had extensive experience working with institutional and high net worth investors in a variety of asset classes, and David began his career at Goldman, Sachs working with private and institutional clients. During his career David also started, built, and sold several companies in the consumer products and marketing sector.
Mr. Chazen is a director of the Chazen Institute of Global Business at Columbia Business School. He serves on the board and Advancement Committee of High Jump, an educational not-for-profit based in Chicago. He is a founding member of the Young Presidents Organization, Aspen Chapter, and serves as membership chair. He serves on the Board of Theatre Aspen and is a member of the Socrates Society of the Aspen Institute. Mr. Chazen received his B.S. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1982 and his MBA from Columbia Business School in 1986. He has run 27 New York City Marathons and counting.

George Baker

As a partner and founder at SEI, George leverages his experience earned in two real estate asset management companies, Montecito Medical and Cypress West Partners, where George’s roles included Chief Investment Officer, Head of Capital Markets, Partner, and Board Member. As an investment manager, George was directly involved in the acquisition and financing of over $1.2B of Medical Office assets.
George also has experience in JLL’s Capital Markets Group specializing in debt in equity placements. George worked across product types and has facilitated bridge, construction, permanent, acquisition, bond (CTL) financings for numerous property types including multifamily, senior living, net leased, aviation, and medical office. George is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and currently resides in Aspen, Colorado with his wife and two daughters.

Chief Financial Officer/Chief Operating Officer

Jon Center, CPA

As CFO/COO of Strategic Equity Investors (SEI), Jon is responsible for all financial aspects of the organization including treasury, accounting, investor reporting and financial analysis, with a keen focus on optimizing asset performance for investors. Jon also takes ownership over day-to-day Company operations, critical asset management matters and oversees the Property Management team, ensuring that Company’s assets are managed with financial prudence and to tenant satisfaction.
Prior to joining SEI, Jon was Global Controller at PE backed FoodChainID, following 11+ years in EY’s assurance practice, including as a Senior Manager within its Real Estate, Hospitality and Construction practice. Jon, a CPA, earned both his BS in Accountancy and Master of Accounting Science from the University of Illinois in Champaign. He also holds an active Real Estate Broker License. Jon lives in the Chicago area with his wife, son, daughter, and dog. Jon is President on the Board of Directors of Resilience, an organization focused on empowering and supporting survivors of domestic violence
Controller and Senior Acquisition Analyst

Grant Krumholz, CPA

As the Controller and Senior Acquisition Analyst, Grant is responsible for the day-to-day financial reporting responsibilities, analyzing potential acquisitions, and investor relations. Prior to SGP, Grant worked in the Deal Advisory group at KPMG, mostly servicing financial due diligence to private equity clients. Grant graduated with both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in accounting from the University of Texas at Austin. He hails from Dallas, and now in living in Chicago. Grant loves travelling, being outside, and cheering on the Longhorns, Cowboys, and Mavericks.
Accountant

Khushboo Sharma

Khushboo currently serves as Staff Accountant for Strategic Equity Investors. She is a commerce graduate from Delhi University and currently is advancing her career as a Company Secretary at the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. Before SEI, Khushboo was the Finance Executive at Paper Tech Engineers.
Khushboo excels in managing month-end financial activities and day-to-day operations. Beyond the numbers, she finds joy in trekking, has a soft spot for dogs, and enjoys exploring diverse music genres.

Financial Analyst

Babit Abrol

Babit serves as a Financial Analyst for Strategic Equity Investors. His responsibilities include underwriting acquisition opportunities, budget analysis, lease and loan abstracts, and completing quarterly analysis reports.
Prior to SEI, Babit served as a Project Coordinator at Cloud Analogy, where he honed his project management skills. Babit’s educational background includes a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance & Business Analytics and Big Data from LM Thapar School of Management (Patiala). Additionally, Babit holds a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) in Finance & Accounting. Babit hails from Punjab, India. Babit is passionate about travel, enjoys listening to music, and plays Badminton and Cricket during his spare time.

Analyst

Nakul Mehra

Nakul is a Financial Analyst for Strategic equity Investors. His responsibilities include underwriting acquisition opportunities, budget analysis, lease and loan abstracts, and completing quarterly analysis reports. Prior to SEI, Nakul has worked in accounting, treasury and finance roles at top MNCs like American Express, Larsen and Toubro, and Aon Hewitt with a total of 5 years of experience in the field of Finance. Nakul has a Bachelor of Science (B.sc) in Finance from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (Mumbai) and has also cleared the first level of the CFA program.
Nakul hails from New Delhi, India, and loves adventure, investing, and playing soccer in his spare time. His favorite sport is soccer, supporting Manchester United.
